Town and Village Renewal Scheme 2017 – Expressions of Interest Sought

Town and Village Renewal Scheme 2017

Mayo County Council is now inviting towns and villages within the county to submit Expressions of Interest for inclusion in the Town and Village Renewal Scheme 2017.

The Town and Village Renewal Scheme 2017 is aimed primarily at improving the economic development of our rural towns and villages, therefore successful proposals will include activities which have clear, positive economic impacts on the town/village, rather than only public realm-type actions.

Following an evaluation of all the Expressions of Interest submitted, Mayo County Council will forward 15 proposals to the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs for approval.

Only one application for any individual town can be submitted to the Department of Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs. That does not preclude an application from including several linked components to support the rejuvenation of the town/village.

The grant funding will be for up to 80% of the total cost of a project, the balance being made up of 10% “in-kind” contributions and a minimum 10% cash contribution. The minimum grant available is €20,000, and the maximum is €100,000.

The evaluation criteria and scoring framework are set out in the Town and Village Renewal Scheme – Scheme Outline (download by clicking on the link).

Expressions of Interest should be submitted, on the official form provided (download the Town and Village Renewal Scheme Application Form 2017), to Declan Turnbull, Community and Integrated Development Officer, Mayo County Council, Cedar House, Moneen Road, Castlebar, on or before 5pm on Friday 26th Mayo 2017. No Expressions of Interest will be accepted after that time.
