Though the first signs of settlement in Ballina, Co. Mayo date back to the 1300s and the founding of the Augustinian Abbey, this more recent milestone offers an opportunity for the community of Ballina to create and participate in an exciting, inclusive year-long programme of collaborative events and activities to celebrate the town.

Over the course of the year, our programme content will range from thrilling, large-scale events of international interest to community-led events that will offer the people of Ballina meaningful, creative opportunities to connect with each other.

Ballina 2023 will honour the past, celebrate the present and inspire hope for the future.

Moy Valley Resources IRD is a founding legacy partner, with representation on the board of Ballina 2023, and is supporting the Ballina 2023 Project Manager in event development.
