Tourism Public Consultation Forum – LEADER @ Kennedy Glasgow Centre

We will be holding a series of sector meetings in Ballina, during week commencing 1st November 2015 and we are anxious to hear from as many people as possible. If you are based in the Ballina Municipal District and work, volunteer or have a particular interest in any of the following sectors, we would greatly welcome your attendance where we will be working to identify strengths and weaknesses and identify development opportunities across each sector.

Venue: the Kennedy Glasgow Centre, The Quay, Ballina.

  •  Education and training (all levels) – Monday 2nd November, 6.30pm,
  • Social Inclusion/Disadvantaged groups – Tuesday 3rd November, 11am
  • Tourism – Wednesday 4th November, 11.30am
  • Agriculture (focusing on diversification/agri-food/agri-tourism) and Environment – Wednesday 4th November, 7.30pm

Information Evening: GMIT New Frontiers Entrepreneurship Programme @ Greenhills Enterprise Centre

Are you thinking of starting a new business? The New Frontiers Entrepreneurship Programme will commence on April 1st 2017 in the GMIT Innovation Hubs in Galway and Mayo. This excellent programme offers a combination of extensive mentoring, expert modules and access to iHUB facilities. Qualifying entrepreneurs will receive €15,000 in funding from Enterprise Ireland (subject to reviews).

An information evening will take place here in Moy Valley Resources (above Moloney Supervalu) on Thursday March 9th at 6:15pm.

Fuelling Ambition Roadshow – Encouraging Female entrepreneurs to maximise their full potential @ Breaffy House Hotel & Resort

The Fuelling Ambition Roadshow takes place in Breaffy House Hotel on Wedneday, April 26th at 6:30pm.

 

Enterprise Ireland and Network Ireland announce The Fuelling Ambition Roadshow for female entrepreneurs in the West. 

The ‘Fuelling Ambition – Steps to Success’ West event, organised by Enterprise Ireland and Network Ireland, in conjunction with the Mayo Local Enterprise Office (LEO) and the Entrepreneurs Academy, is free of charge to existing and potential entrepreneurs and business women. Booking is strongly advised.

Building on the successful ‘Fuelling Ambition’ initiative introduced in 2016, this year’s roadshow will feature an Elevator Pitch competition with a prize package worth €4,000 at each location including:

  • 10 sessions with Enterprise Ireland Mentors
  • Attendance at Enterprise Ireland’s Excel at Export Selling training programme
  • Annual membership of Network Ireland
  • Leadership training programme with the Entrepreneurs Academy, a national entrepreneur development organisation

The event aims to encourage, support and drive the ambition of female entrepreneurs in the West and across the country. Lorraine Patridge, Team Horizon and Emma Killian, BriteBiz, two thriving Irish entrepreneurs, will share their business journeys and ‘steps to success’ at the event.

This seminar, covering succession planning, is a must for anyone who has made or is contemplating making a will.

It will focus on the importance of having a will in place, cover the keys elements of a valid will, the areas that give rise to problems with wills, and offer solutions to these pitfalls.

Topics will include spousal, children and co-habitant rights, cross border issues, guardians, trustees, executors and trusts (for minors and incapacitated beneficiaries), and Enduring power of Attorney.

The effect of divorce and separation on wills, and what happens when there is no will, will also be addressed.

Presenter: Peter Loftus of Bourke, Carrigg and Loftus.
