Mayo Volunteer Centre

Moy Valley Resources IRD facilitates and supports the management of the Mayo Volunteer Centre which is based in the Moy Valley Offices on Cathedral Road, Ballina and has an outreach office in Castlebar, Co. Mayo.

Mayo Volunteer Centre is an independent organisation working with volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations, and provides a range of services for volunteers, where you can:

  • Find out about volunteering opportunities without having to make a commitment
  • Get information on volunteering opportunities
  • Talk to someone on the how, why and where of volunteering
  • Get ongoing support and advice if you want it


The Mayo Volunteer Centre also provides a range of services to volunteer involving organisations:

  • If you need volunteers they will try and source them for you
  • the Volunteer Centre can visit your organisation and help with any issues about taking on volunteers for the first time, or to review current procedures
  • They can advise you on anything to do with volunteering, such as references, good practice, expenses … and much more
  • The Mayo Volunteer Centre provides a Garda Vetting Service for volunteer involving organisations who do not have an authorised signatory in their organisation.

The Mayo Volunteer Centre does not charge for the majority of their services and full confidentiality applies.
